King Tides and Dangerous Surf Conditions Continue in Orange County

The National Weather Service (NWS) has extended warnings for dangerous coastal conditions in Orange County through Friday.
Elevated surf, rip currents, and king tides are creating hazardous conditions along the coastline.

Why It's Important?

The combination of high surf and king tides poses significant risks to beachgoers and coastal residents. Rip currents and breaking waves can endanger swimmers, surfers, and small boats near the shore. Low-lying areas are at risk of minor flooding, which could lead to localized street ponding and property damage. Motorists driving through flooded areas may inadvertently worsen the situation by creating wakes. Residents in flood-prone areas are advised to take precautions to protect their properties.
